What this quote means is that in order to accomplish something you want you need to work hard for it. An example of this quote can be like Tyler haws, he worked hard to be good at basketball and he broke the record at BYU. Another example can be when you are failing your classes and you want to raise them up to good grades. The hard work will pay off. When you work hard on raising your grades up it will pay off, sooner or later you will have good grades. But if you don't even bother to try you will get no where, the only thing that will happen to you is you will drop grades very easy. No matter what you want to do, work hard and it will pay off.
