This quote means that if you are with friends that do bad things such as drugs, smoke, drink alcohol and other things. That is bad company. If you are alone you have more chances of doing other things such as read, play something, draw, color, paint. These are some things you can do if you are alone because you chose to be, instead of being with your friends doing the wrong things, things your not suppose to be doing.
