What this quote means is that goodness is the only thing that doesn't fail anyone. If you are the type of person that  does good things then you are doing a good job on that. If you are a person that doesn't do any good things then you should start too. Many people do good things because We are in tough times right now and there is a lot going on at the moment. Some of the things that are going on at the moment are school shootings, terrorists and many other things. Some people believe that doing a good thing(act of kindness), there can be a better place if we all did something good.
