what this quote is saying is that if you have the correct goal and you are doing them correctly you'll succeed. But if your not following them and not pursuing them you will go down another path, that leads you to nowhere. An example of this ca be when you want to graduate school you need to have goals to get what you want to do. Otherwise known as mini goals to get to your actual goal. Once you reach your goal you have accomplished it you have succeed.
